What is Coreopsis? It's a bright and cheerful flower that's sure to put a smile on your face! Native to North America, this gorgeous bloom comes in a variety of colors, from sunshine yellow to vibrant pink. Plus, it's super low-maintenance, making it a perfect addition to any garden or bouquet.

Grow from seeds :

Step 1: Prepare the Soil

Coreopsis seeds prefer well-draining soil that's rich in organic matter. If your soil is heavy clay or sandy, mix in some compost or well-rotted manure to improve its structure. The ideal pH for Coreopsis is between 6 and 7.

Step 2: Sow the Seeds

Sow the seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date in your area. Fill a seed tray or small pots with a good quality potting mix, and sow the seeds about 1/8 inch deep. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil and water gently. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

Step 3: Provide the Right Conditions

Coreopsis seeds require light to germinate, so make sure the seed tray or pots are placed in a sunny location. Keep the soil at a temperature of around 21°C to 24°C until germination, which usually takes 1-2 weeks.

Step 4: Transplant

Once the seedlings have 2-3 sets of leaves, it's time to transplant them into larger pots or directly into the garden. Harden off the seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions over the course of 7-10 days. Space the plants 12-18 inches apart, depending on the variety.

Step 5: Care and Maintenance

Coreopsis is a low-maintenance flower that requires minimal care. Water the plants regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Fertilize the plants with a balanced fertilizer once a month, and deadhead the flowers regularly to encourage more blooms.

That's it! With these simple steps, you should be able to grow beautiful Coreopsis flowers from seeds. Remember to be patient, as it may take a few weeks for the seeds to germinate and the plants to mature. Good luck, and happy gardening!
