The Flower Aztec Marigold, also known as Tagetes erecta, is an annual herb native to Mexico and Central America. This vibrant orange-yellow flower played a significant role in the Aztec culture, where it was revered for its medicinal, spiritual, and ceremonial properties. The Aztecs used the marigold to treat various ailments, including wounds, fever, and respiratory issues. In addition, they believed the flower possessed mystical powers, using it in rituals to honor the dead and ward off evil spirits. Today, the Aztec Marigold remains a popular ornamental flower, valued for its bright colors and pungent aroma.

how to grow Flower Aztec Marigold from seeds ?

Step 1: Prepare the Soil
Fill a small pot or seed tray with a well-draining seed starting mix. You can also use a mix specifically designed for marigolds, as they prefer slightly acidic soil.

Step 2: Sow the Seeds
Sow the seeds about 1/8 inch deep and 1-2 inches apart. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. Water gently but thoroughly. Make sure the soil is moist but not waterlogged.

Step 3: Provide the Right Conditions
Place the pot or seed tray in a warm location with indirect sunlight. Aztec Marigolds love temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C). Keep the soil consistently moist during the germination period, which usually takes 7-10 days.

Step 4: Thin Out the Seedlings
Once the seedlings emerge, thin them out to about 6-8 inches apart. This will give them enough space to grow and receive adequate sunlight.

Step 5: Transplant
After 2-3 weeks, once the seedlings have 2-3 sets of leaves, transplant them into individual pots or into a larger container. Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot that's at least 6-8 inches deep.

Step 6: Care and Maintenance
Water your Aztec Marigolds regularly, but avoid overwatering. Fertilize them once a month with a balanced fertilizer. Deadhead the flowers regularly to encourage more blooms.

That's it! With these simple steps, you'll be enjoying the vibrant beauty of Aztec Marigolds in no time. Make sure to subscribe to my channel for more flower-growing tutorials and tips.
